I was so honored to be asked to participate in the latest season of Wear LACMA. Each season the iconic LA Museum taps local designers to create limited-edition designs inspired by their permanent collections. When I visited the museum for a private tour with the incredibly chic Katherine Ross, first we sat down and discussed what type of art I'm drawn to and what inspires me. I told her that French things as well as very graphic art and art that includes text were things that stood out in my head. Katherine brought me to see an 18th century French vest. The graphic embroidery pattern and tongue-in-cheek sayings were made all the more charming by the way they're mixed together. The hand-drawn elements reminded me so much of the beautiful work that our Graphic Designer Lizzie does at CVHQ - it seemed a perfect fit. I'm so pleased with the final collection and the fun French twist we brought to the pieces. There's a triangle printed cream leather flat clutch, a tote in both cream leather and triangle-printed canvas, and adorable tees, printed with "Charmant Charmant" and other charming French phrases. And talk about good company - I'm so honored to be a part of the program alongside Anita Ko and George Esquivel. We added the phrase "Charmant Charmant" on the triangle print clutch and tote. The shirt says the clothes don't make the man, but Chloe couldn't look cuter in this limited-edition tee. The cream leather tote comes in the softest shade that's perfect for Summer. And Chloe wants them both.
You'll be able to shop select pieces on Net-a-Porter beginning tomorrow, May 21, and the full collection on ClareV.com!
