Had my first trip to wintry New York last week - here are the highlights: Clockwise from top left: I never tire of crisp white hotel sheets while traveling - when I threw my CV shopping tote on it one morning, I had to take a shot; We had another fun monogramming trunk show at Bergdorfs - no better place for holiday people watching; I've had the good fortune of spending time with Michael Williams of A Continuous Lean blog while at the recent Steven Alan events in Dallas and Atlanta and he invited us participate in his Pop-Up Flea - it was cool to be the with a bunch of men's lines; The Steven Alan holiday party took place while I was in town - here's a shot of everyone saying hi! At the Pop-Up Flea, I ran into an old friend and he showed me how well his OG CV cardcase has aged; Dinner at Upstate in the East Village was delicious; I love it when you look up in NYC and notice that your underneath some iconic building; The BG windows did not disappoint. My meeting place of choice for this trip was Locanda Verde at the Greenwich Hotel - one of those meetings was with Tracy Taylor from Net-a-Porter, and she showed me her navy Sandrine; the lobby of the Greenwich; snapping a pic of the Dries Van Noten brogues I wanted to buy at Edon Manor to get approval from a girlfriend - she approved; spotted a black Louise on a pretty women on the street. We got lucky and were able to book our CVNY holiday dinner at one of my favorite New York restaurants, Prune. Fun to be with all the girls I don't get to spend too much time with. The bottom right corner shows one of the incredible desserts - I don't normally photograph food, but this one is so simple and so easy, I had to remember it to do it at home one day: grilled baguette with chards of chocolate with drizzled olive oil and sea salt on top! So. Good. Til the next trip to visit my family in Minnesota next week for Christmas! xcv
