This week, we asked Colleen, our Director of Product Development & Production, to share her Milan photo diary with us. She's just back from a whirlwind trip with Clare and here she shares her favorite Italian moments. Last month Clare and I made our 2nd trip together to the Lineapelle leather show in Milan, this time sourcing for our upcoming Spring '17 collection. I started attending this show 5 years ago when it was based in the Italian town of Bologna, and although I miss experiencing the Bolognese small-town charm and incredible food, I've come to adore the Milanese ways. Here are some of my favorite things to squeeze in between long days exploring beautiful new materials! - Colleen Sunday afternoon arrived at The Yard Hotel, strolled along the river in Porto Ticinese neighborhood. Beautiful imagery in the streets of Porto Ticinese. Duomo at night. Gelato, gelato, gelato - pistachio + salted chocolate is a winning combo. Waking up the ladies (Suki + Le Grand Depart Flat Clutch) for a big day around town. Portrait of Double Sac Bretelle reclining at Fondazione Prada's Bar Luce. Cute/ delicious views at Fondazione Prada's Bar Luce. Blush Mick blending into the pastel candy interior of Fondazione Prada's Bar Luce. Blush Mick gets her groove on at Fondazione Prada's Bar Luce. Breadstick ladder to the night sky (artist/ title unknown) at Fondazione Prada. The Giacometti Variations by John Baldessari at Fondazione Prada. The Giacometti Variations by John Baldessari at Fondazione Prada. CV checking out The Giacometti Variations by John Baldessari at Fondazione Prada. We know how to aperitivo, Grand Hotel Et De Milan. CV magnifying some very small text (I forget what!), Grand Hotel Et De Milan. Gazing longingly at the beautiful mint green interior (and aperitivo on display) at Tambon di San Marco - bookmarked for our next trip! La Bandiera Italiana flying high. CV chose a cerulean blue nail polish from this street vending machine. Bright, happy lemons at the local market. Crisp, green pears with little red wax caps at the local market. Cute signage at the roasted chestnut street vendor. Duomo by day. Beautiful book shop views, Gallerie Vittorio Emanuele II. Beautiful book shop views, Gallerie Vittorio Emanuele II. Beautiful book shop views, Gallerie Vittorio Emanuele II. Look up, Gallerie Vittorio Emanuele II. Look down, Gallerie Vittorio Emanuele II. My favorite way to wind down after a long day at the leather show - a Negroni and aperitivo at Campari Bar, Gallerie Vittorio Emanuele II. Tiny chocolate-covered ice cream bar, a perfect ending to a perfect meal at Bebel's. Ciao!
