As the heat beats on in L.A., we've been daydreaming of those long Summer days. We had our #CVAmbassador Sophie Monet share her end-of-Summer sojourn with us for le blog.
"After receiving an invitation to my best friend's last minute Italian wedding, I was immediately determined to make it back to one of my favorite cities before the end of Summer. I bought a last minute plane ticket and decided to add two more stops on my European adventure.
First stop: Mykonos with Mick! Traveling with 8 friends to this idyllic Aegean island made it all the more fun. We explored the island every day, finding beaches and restaurants serving up fresh grilled fish. The seaside restaurant Spilia and Agia Anna was definitely a highlight.
Liberez les sardines!
Formentera has been on my list of travel destinations for a while. I was so excited to finally see Ibiza's rocky coves and the white sand beaches of the neighboring Island. We took a day trip to Formentera on a catamaran, first anchoring at S'Espalmador for a swim in the turquoise water, then to Beso Beach for a big Paella lunch and back to Ibiza for sunset. It was a truly magical day.
Then we were off to Italy for Matilde and Pierre's wedding! I love visiting Rome and wandering the streets of my old neighborhood Trastevere, when I studied abroad. We rented a scooter and ate our way through the day.
Bacios: I met Pierre the same day I decided to move to Venice. He convinced me to rent a tiny studio next door to him in the same weeks he was falling in love. When I met Matilde (longtime CV model and muse), I was instantly taken by her worldly demeanor, creative fashion sense and undeniable warm heart. She is a true timeless beauty and they are one of the coolest couples I know.
Wedding flowers inspired by Clare V. stores! Love the use of tomato sauce cans as vases!
Day trip to Castel Gandolfo: We took a day trip to the old mountain town, which overlooks a volcanic crater lake.
Matilde and I testing the water before our dip!
Beautiful Italian landscape!
Lago Albano: Stripey on vacation.
