À Propos De Clare V.
About Clare V.
The question in my head has always been: 'what bags do stylish working women want'? -Clare Vivier
From that question, we’re building a brand dedicated to chic, functional, and fun products made by a group of kind, diligent colleagues, and along the way lending support to the causes that we believe in.
Founded in 2008, Clare V. combines laid-back California style with Parisian polish. Our assortment now includes handbags, wallets & other small leather goods, clothing, hats, fashion jewelry, and whatever else we can dream up. All of our products are thoughtfully designed and crafted to bring joy.
Notre Fabrication
Our Sourcing
When Clare founded the company, she worked directly with family-owned factories in L.A. to bring her vision to life. We still are working with three L.A. leather goods factories and they make the bulk of our handbag assortment. We also make our cut & sew knits (think t-shirts and sweatshirts) in L.A. As we’ve grown and expanded our assortment, we’ve expanded our sourcing. We now choose to make some products outside of the U.S. where we’ve found the most skilled makers with good proximity to raw materials. We believe that talented craftspeople exist around the globe and we value the opportunity to work with them.

Giving Back
Part of our company mission is to give back to our community. We create product in partnership with organizations and causes we believe in and return a portion of the proceeds to show our support. We are especially proud of our ongoing partnership with Every Mother Counts, an organization founded by Christy Turlington Burns, that works to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere. For this program, we have an ongoing product assortment from which 30% of the proceeds are contributed to the organization.
“I am grateful to have the company in a position where we can give back to causes that matter to us. This speaks to a philosophical component of this company—and something instilled in me by my parents—the need to support communities and work for social justice. I believe community, both local and global, is vitally important and that none of us exists in a vacuum.” –Clare Vivier
